Privacy Policy

Summary

Kompressor is a native macOS app that compresses, converts and resizes images entirely on your own Mac. It does not upload your images. It has no account or sign-in. It collects no analytics or telemetry. It works fully offline.

This policy explains the few places where any data is involved at all — buying a licence, or emailing us for support — and confirms what we do not collect, which is almost everything. Kompressor is published by HYPRARION.

The app: your images never leave your Mac

When you compress, convert or resize images with Kompressor, all processing happens locally on your device. Your images are read from your disk, processed in memory, and written back to your disk. Nothing is sent anywhere.

• No images or files are uploaded to us or to any third party.
• Output files are saved to ~/Documents/Kompressor/ with a -kompressor suffix. Your originals are never modified.
• The app works with no internet connection. You can use it on a plane, in a tunnel, or with Wi-Fi switched off.

What the app does not collect

To be specific, the Kompressor app does not collect or transmit:

• Your images, file names, folder contents, or any of their metadata.
• Usage data, telemetry, crash reports, or feature analytics.
• Your name, email address, IP address, or device identifiers.
• Anything at all over the network during normal image processing.

There is no account to create and no sign-in. The app does not contain third-party analytics or advertising code.

The website

Our marketing website at kompressor.hyprarion.com is a static site. As of the date above, it uses no tracking cookies, no third-party analytics, and collects no personal data from visitors beyond the standard request logs that any web server keeps.

Those server logs may include information your browser sends with every request — such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested — and are used only to keep the site running securely and to diagnose problems. We do not use them to build profiles or to track you across other sites.

Buying a licence

Kompressor is sold directly as a download from this site, not through the Mac App Store. When you buy a Pro or Team licence, the payment is handled by our payment processor, [CONFIRM: payment processor, e.g. Stripe/Paddle].

To process your purchase, the payment processor receives the details you enter at checkout — typically your email address and payment information — and handles them under their own privacy policy and terms. We do not see or store your full card details. We use the email and purchase record only to deliver your licence, provide support, and keep a record of the sale as required for accounting and tax. The free tier (10 images per day, forever) needs no email and no card.

No accounts

Kompressor has no user accounts and no login. There is no profile, no password, and no cloud sync. Your licence is tied to the number of Macs you bought it for, not to an account with us.

If you email us

If you write to support@hyprarion.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to answer you and to handle any related follow-up. We do not use your support email for marketing.

Children

Kompressor is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the app collects no personal data and the website uses no tracking, there is nothing here that targets or profiles anyone, regardless of age.

International users and your rights

We aim to respect the privacy rights granted under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where these apply to the limited data described above (mainly your purchase record and any support emails), you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Request deletion of your data, where we are not required to keep it (for example, for accounting or tax).
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these, email support@hyprarion.com. Note that some purchase data is held by the payment processor under their own policy, so requests about payment details may need to go to them as well.

A note on refunds

All sales are final — we do not offer refunds. The generous free tier (10 images per day, forever, with no email and no card) lets you fully evaluate Kompressor before paying, and the price is a small one-time amount. Because Kompressor is a direct download rather than a Mac App Store purchase, there is no Apple refund flow.

By purchasing and downloading, you consent to immediate delivery of digital content. This does not affect any mandatory statutory consumer rights you may have where they legally apply.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app or website handles data, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
